Mr. Lewis began his legal career as a trademark an copyright attorney in the corporate legal department of Warner Communications (now Time Warner) where his primary responsibility was the registration, protection and enforcement of the trademarks of DC Comics and Warner Brothers Looney Tunes Cartoon, subsidiaries of Warner's. Chief among his responsibilities was the policing of the SUPERMAN trademark and copyright property. Diverting from a legal career for several years, Mr. Lewis operated his own company in the growing cable television industry. He returned to the practice of law in 1987 as an associate and then a partner with the Firm. His primary focus is on counseling clients in connection with domestic and foreign trademark matters. His experience includes extensive work on foreign and domestic trademark applications and supervising litigation and contested proceedings before the Patent and Trademark Office if the United States and around the world. Mr. Lewis takes pride in his ability to register marks, which have been considered not remittable by his colleagues. His perseverance when faced with rejections by the Patent and Trademark Office has frequently resulted in registration of difficult marks.
